Justin Bieber US Citizen

He’s already an international superstar, but is Justin Bieber ready to become an All-American boy?

During his candid chat with Rolling Stone Magazine last February, Canadian-born and bred teen pop sensation Justin Bieber pooh-poohed the idea of swapping his allegiance with our friends up North to become a full-fledged citizen.

“You guys are evil,” he joked. “Canada’s the best country in the world,” he added. “We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard’s baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby’s premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home.”

But just a few months later, informants say JB’s already changing his tune.

We bet it was the hot dogs that won him over!

In Touch Weekly recently sat down with a Biebs Stan, who spilled the tea on Bieber’s reported plans to seek citizenship Stateside while still retaining his card-carrying status as a Canadian. The “Baby” crooner’s hoping to obtain dual citizenship, effectively becoming a person who is a citizen of two countries at the same time. Justin would join a host of high-profile Canadians — including Michael J. Fox, Sheryl Crow, Jim Carrey, Alanis Morissette, and Pamela Anderson — who have become American citizens.

“Justin loves Canada, but he’s looking into dual citizenship,” according to a spy, who says Justin’s sudden change of heart is purely professional. “It will be easier for him to work here if he became a US citizen. His business is here and he needs to be here so much of the time. It would be a smart move for him.”

“A smart move” that will likely make him easily accessible for the throngs of Bieber Fever patients across the 50 states!
